Day four we bring you Water Licensing! Join Liia Schilds , Senior Water Authorization Specialist with FLNRORD as she speaks about the Water Sustainability Act with a focus on the upcoming March 1, 2022 application deadline for Existing Use Groundwater users. The presentation will include an overview of the legislation, differences between application types, why and when an authorization is needed and requirements and guidelines on how to apply for a water licence. We will also hear from Carla Hartling, Water Resource Specialist with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries as she demonstrates how to use the BC Agriculture Water Calculator to estimate the volume of water needed for irrigation or livestock watering, and to generate a map of an applicant’s property and water system to attach to the application.
