Attention Producers!
The Province of British Columbia is inviting public feedback on proposed updates to hunting and trapping regulations for the 2026–28 cycle.
Every two years, the Province reviews regulations to support sustainable wildlife management and balance conservation with economic and recreational opportunities. Proposed changes are informed by the best available science and developed through consultation with hunters and community organizations.
Public engagement is open until February 13, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
Approximately 60 regulatory proposals are under consideration across B.C., including updates related to:
-
Limited-entry hunting opportunities
-
General open-season hunting opportunities
-
Harvesting methods
-
Access management
-
Delivery of hunting and fishing regulations
Final regulations will be published in the Hunting and Trapping Regulations Synopsis and will take effect July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028.
Public participation helps ensure regulations remain responsive to changing conditions, support healthy wildlife populations and reflect community perspectives.
