As the date on the calendar is getting closer to the middle of May the directors of the BC Grain Producers recognize that this is an extremely stressful time for Grain growers in our region. We have and will continue to be in contact with Production Insurance as the situation changes.
Glen Mielke, Crop Risk Specialist provided us with this update;
Unseeded acreage coverage is offered as part of all Grain production insurance policies. This coverage applies when eligible land is too wet to seed before June 5th to a crop under the Grain Production Insurance program. Clients MUST file a Notice of Loss prior to June 8th identifying the land they have been unable to seed.
In addition, the Agri-Stability enrollment for 2022 has been extended until June 30th.
Participants are reminded to contact their local program representative if they have any questions or to file a Notice of Loss.
